Il Borro launches new "Green Energy & Corporate Welfare" project in partnership with Tera

Il Borro, an organic farm owned by the Ferragamo family, presented an innovative corporate welfare project related to sustainable energy, in collaboration with Tera Società Benefit. The "Il Borro Green Energy & Corporate Welfare" project is a pioneering initiative that aims to improve the quality of life for employees while promoting energy efficiency and sustainability.

An innovative welfare project in the agriculture and hospitality sector

The project, developed within the Sustainability Table of Confindustria Toscana Centro e Costa, stands out for its integrated approach between environmental sustainability and employee well-being. Thanks to the technical support of Tera Società Benefit, Il Borro's employees will be able to benefit from the surplus of renewable energy produced by the company's photovoltaic plants by entering into energy contracts with advantageous conditions.

In the first year, the pilot project will involve a selected group of employees in the agricultural sector, who will receive a contribution of up to 300 euros per year for energy expenses, with the aim of gradually extending the initiative to all company personnel.

Collaboration with Tera for a replicable model

Roberto Olivieri, president of Tera Benefit Society, said, "We are excited to partner with Il Borro in this innovative project, which is a concrete example of how energy sustainability can integrate seamlessly with corporate welfare. As a technical partner, our goal is to provide solutions that not only reduce the cost of energy, but also improve workers' quality of life and environmental impact. We firmly believe that this model can be replicated in other realities, demonstrating how energy transition can be a driver for social and economic welfare."

This project is a concrete example of how energy transition can support social and economic well-being, offering a model that can be replicated in other business settings.

The support of the Ferragamo family

The project was strongly supported by Ferruccio Ferragamo's children, Salvatore and Vittoria, who are leading the company toward greater integration of environmental sustainability and corporate welfare.

"Energy is a crucial resource for addressing many of today's global challenges. Sustainable energy, in particular, offers an opportunity to make the relationship between society and the environment more balanced," says Salvatore Ferragamo. "Il Borro has always recognized the key role of the private sector in achieving these goals, adopting initiatives in line with GOAL 7 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's). With our photovoltaic installations, we generated 2.47 GWh of renewable energy in 2023 alone, powering several zero-bill facilities equipped with solutions such as geothermal, solar panels and heat pumps."

Vittoria Ferragamo, the company's sustainability manager, added, "I am deeply proud of the progress Il Borro has made in the area of sustainability. This project is particularly close to my heart, as it aims directly at the well-being of our employees. Today, corporate welfare is a strategic lever to attract and retain talent, offering concrete benefits not only from an economic point of view, but also in terms of quality of life."

Sustainability and corporate welfare: a winning combination

The Il Borro Green Energy & Corporate Welfare project demonstrates how sustainability is not just a philosophy, but a concrete practice involving all aspects of corporate life. Il Borro's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's), particularly GOAL 7, highlights the key role of sustainable energy in improving the relationship between society and the environment.
