The service of technical interruptibility has been introduced by the new decree of Mise for companies with high consumption of gas. A step forward for industrial gas customers, who until now could only take advantage of the interruptibility resulting from the activation of special supply contracts already in place and entered into by operators. This measure was adopted with the aim of improving the safety and reliability of the gas system.

Unlike in past years, the new service provides for remuneration for membership, the amount of which will soon be defined by a resolution of ARERA.

The service is aimed at entities that use gas for industrial purposes, including electricity generation when functional to the production process on site.

The decree establishes two possible ways of offering the service, depending on the notice period for activation and the duration of the application:

Service A - 24 hours notice and maximum duration of 3 consecutive days

Service B - 48 hours notice and minimum duration of 3 consecutive days and maximum of 5 working days.

The period of possible activation of the measure is between 1 November and 31 March of each year
